Wigan Junior Latics - 7 v U12 -2
Billinge were drawn against a very talented Wigan Junior Latics squad for this second round Lancashire Cup tie however they were in no way fazed by the oppostion.
Latics took an early lead which was quickly cancelled out by some great work from Harry C, crossing well for James R to tap home.
Latics once again took the lead but Billinge were unlucky not to draw level on several occasions as the half drew to a close with Billinge 2-1 down.
Early in the second half Billinge conceded a dubious goal, then were back within striking distance at 3-2 after a good run from Bradley S saw a penalty awarded which Sam B-F slotted home.
The game was then finely balanced but in the last 15 mins Billinge tired, Latics brought on fresh legs and Billinge conceded 2 goals from corners and 2 goals to terrrific long range strikes.
This game was a lot closer than the final score suggests and great credit must go to the squad who all gave 100% especially Dan H who won MOM.
