U13 6 v Orrell 0
Our first game since the 16th of December and you could certainly tell with the boys
It was a disjointed performance with only 2 or 3 boys playing to their potential.
Orrell played well with only 10 players; they were committed and generally won every loose ball and had the best 2 players on the pitch in their right back and goalie.
We had most of the pressure in the first half, with Myles and James working hard, but could only go into the break with a 1-0 lead after James poked home after a scramble in the box.
A lack of passing and trying to exploit the extra man was evident throughout the half.
The 2nd half was better, but I’m sure that some of this was due to Orrell tiring, as they played uphill with a man down.
After missing a sitter in the first half Matthew made amends with 2 goals, the second of which was a great chip over the advancing goalie.
James scored 2 more from inside the box to get his hat trick, which was well deserved for the effort that he put in.
Jez also scored from inside the box after going round the keeper.
We will have to improve our passing and commitment for the next few games.
Final Score 6-0, MOM James
