What a performance Billinge produced when it mattered. We played the game with only 10 players due to holidays and injuries and found ourselves 1 down at half time due to a dubious goal, the referee asking the opposition to put the ball dead due to a head injury to a Billinge player. Billinge stopped, Highfield carried on and put the ball in the net.
Come the second half and what a show of character. The Billinge 10 men chased everything and a volleyed goal by Jake S from a corner put them level.
A mix up at the back gifted Highfield an undeserved lead but a brilliant solo effort by Jake S put us level with 10 minutes to go. Billinge pressed hard and created a host of spurned chances until, with 2 minutes to go, Jacob P curled a left shot into the top corner to win the game for Billinge.
