U11's 1 v Town Green 2
Billinge U11s were very unlucky not to come away with at least a point from their first ever competitive match at their new home venue of Nugent House.
An evenly matched,scoreless, first 15mins then saw 3 goals in the last 15 mins of the half. First was a deflected goal which looped over the Billinge keepers head. Billinge pressed hard and only a superb full length save from the Town Green keeper to deny Sam B-F kept them ahead. Billinge then fought back to level it with a well taken goal by Bradley S. In driving rain, a cross into the box was misjudged by the Billinge defence and skidded into the net to give Town green the lead again.
Throughout all the second half Billinge pushed for the leveller with some excellent work by James R down both flanks. However it wasn't to be and Town Green clung on for all 3 points.
