Hindley Town 1 v U13's 1

It was a bitterly cold morning, but the pitch was in great condition which allowed both teams to play football.

Hindley Town are a big side with a couple of exceptional players and as always we had a great game against them.

The first half was end to end, with our back 4 organising themselves well – along with Adam, they are gradually getting a lot better at communicating with each other.

Jack was having his usual good game in midfield and James and Matty who came on as subs showed some great touches and commitment.

Hindley took the lead from a corner, which was floated into our box – Jack committed to clear it and unfortunately put it into the back of the net for an own goal.

HT 0-1

The 2nd half carried on end to end, with both goalies making good saves.

We decided to swop a few players round, putting Nick back into midfield and Jez upfront and from then on we dominated the game, putting Hindley under a lot of pressure.

The breakthrough eventually came, with Jez putting a great pass through for Myles to run onto, to finish under the keeper. 1-1.

We continued to pressure the Hindley defence but couldn’t quite get the winner.

A great game, well refereed, with a result that was fair for both sides.

Final Score 1-1
