Hindley A 7 v U15's 2
Great start to 1st half, we should have been 3 nil up in first 20 mins, but we had some bad luck like the ball stopping in a puddle on the line, hitting the bar, ref sending texts instead of watching the game so you don’t get the right decision! You know how it goes. So it ends up 2-2 at half-time instead of 3-0.
We come out confident 2nd half – Jordan’s having a blinder at the back, winning every 50/50 & relishing the challenge of keeping their 2 strikers in his pocket. However, not everybody is playing to their full potential, we get sloppy & complacent, including the Ref. He is sending another text to his missus as they lob the ball over our defence & fails to notice one of their players offside. 3 -2.
Then Jordan goes in for a tackle, hurts his ankle & has to come off. From then on we were struggling, just going for route 1 but not really finding 1. We never really threatened their goal at all in the 2nd half, the lad’s hearts weren’t in it. We were 2nd to every ball & they put in another 4. My thoughts went to the 1st half where on any other day this game could have been very different if we had the luck!
Soooooh………it’s back to the pub then!
No I’ve given up! Yes I have so it’s back home! Slippers on! Feet up! Antique Roadshow on! Big mug of Horlicks! And just calmly point out to the family where it all went wrong this lovely morning!
